Sid Smith – Labourer – One of the old school was a labourer all his life if I gave him a job to do when it was done he would always find something to do without me telling him, like collecting all the nails and screws that the carpenters just leave lying around in the dirt!! He would always tell them but it did not make any difference.
Miss Torrey – The lady whose land the Broadway site was built on. She died sometime ago, but she always asked after Nick when I told him he always said if he went see her she always had a bottle of something so he did not go very often. We did a small job for her the Sluice Gate in Heacham river needed replacing that was an interesting job, Had to part dam the river for a few days.
